Rachel Cullis Dorsett

Founder and Director

With over 30 years’ experience in the PR industry, cutting her teeth in entertainment publicity for ITV and the BBC before moving into the leisure, lifestyle and food sectors, Rachel is passionate about the value that strategic communications brings to businesses.  Strong writing, storytelling, and just good old-fashioned perseverance, as well as an acute attention to detail continue to be the backbone of her career. She founded Silver Pear in 2020 and is committed to creating brilliant PR people to future proof the profession.

Work Fuel:
  • Intravenous coffee
  • Actual newspapers and magazines (not digital) – the higher the pile the better
  • Trevor the family black Labrador (only when he’s asleep)
Guilty Pleasures:
  • Frasier – there has been nothing to beat it either before or since.
  • Artisan cheeses from the British Isles
  • Freshly washed bedlinen and a good book, in that order
Jen Liggins

Jen Liggins

Director of PR

Quite simply, Jen is passionate about all things PR. She is a firm believer in starting from the strategic ground up, really getting to know a client’s beliefs, values and ethos, to produce not only the best stories, but to utilise the most effective channels to communicate with consumers.

Having begun her career at the heart of leisure, lifestyle and F&B, Jen has since garnered experience across the board, creating personalised strategies and raising client profiles using the power of the written word. With the onset of digital, she hasn’t shied away from learning new skills and embracing new technologies, ensuring she is bringing her clients with her on the journey. Jen is very excited to see what the future holds for our industry!

Work fuel
  • Lists, lists, lists – written with actual pen and paper
  • Results! There is no better buzz on the planet
  • Creative thinking star jumps – yes this is a thing; gets the brain juices flowing. Don’t believe me, give it a go!
Guilty Pleasures
  • A lengthy dog walk (preferably ending at a pub)
  • Anything dark chocolate related
  • Stealing a quiet moment, in a comfy chair with my kindle
Harriet Slinger

Harriet Slinger

An organised, tenacious and highly-effective PR consultant, Harriet’s years of experience span consumer and B2B sectors, with a strong food and drink background working on both large household brands and small artisan producers. Work fuel
  • Plenty of lists, they’re the best way to stay on track and get stuff done
  • Building successful and fruitful relationships with our clients and media contacts – one of the best bits of the job
  • A motivational Spotify playlist or radio station
Guilty Pleasures:
  • Most 80s and 90s music
  • Cats and dogs! Couldn’t choose between the two
  • Organising and decluttering – just call me Stacey Solomon!
Olivia Gould

Olivia Gould

Senior PR Consultant

Olivia is a hard-working and positive senior PR consultant with a conscientious attitude and a vast knowledge in B2C PR after working in the industry for over a decade. She has gained a wealth of experience after strategically devising, managing and executing multiple campaigns and retained PR activity for a variety of high-profile attractions in the leisure sector, alongside leading restaurant brands.

Work fuel:
  • A good old-fashioned A4 diary with comprehensive to do lists so no action is missed
  • Picking up the phone to clients or the media to cement those important working relationships
  • All the snacks – sweet and savoury – to munch on throughout the day
Guilty Pleasures:
  • My two cats Flash (a big fat ginger cat) and Freddie (whose mission in life is to be best friends with Flash – but he’s not interested in the slightest)
  • Relaxing at home with a cheesy rom-com and a big bag of popcorn
  • Scouring Rightmove on a daily basis to have a nosy in other people’s houses
Sarah Wheeler

Sarah Wheeler

Senior PR Consultant

Sarah is a highly experienced PR practitioner and former journalist with a wealth of experience in both B2B and B2C PR, mainly across the food, hospitality and leisure sectors.  She has worked with a wide range of clients from start-ups to high profile FTSE 100 names and particularly enjoys the challenge of creating – and delivering – high quality, content-driven and results-orientated campaigns.

Work fuel:
  • Being organised – online and on paper
  • A regular supply of coffee – although decaff is the go-to choice, my brain thinks it’s all about the caffeine
  • Delivering results – spotting a great cutting about a client is one of work’s great adrenaline rushes!

Guilty pleasures:
  • My garden – nothing like an hour or two of ferocious weeding to concentrate the mind
  • A trip to the coast – any coast.  Landlocked Gloucestershire is beautiful but I’m convinced I must have occupied a rockpool in a former life!
  • Leafing through the property pages of Country Life and planning how to spend that Euromillions win that I never remember to buy tickets for!
