Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn

The Brief

Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn approached Silver Pear ahead of launching its brand-new playground in Staffordshire in early 2024. The playground, built by world-renowned designers CAP.Co, and owned by the Chillington Hall Estate, was the first indoor and outdoor adventure facility of its kind in the area, designed to reflect the area’s thrilling history, in play.

The centrepiece of the Adventure Playbarn is a giant mock oak tree, modelled on the one that King Charles II hid in at Boscobel House as he fled Oliver Cromwell, post the Battle of Worcester. The Playbarn allows children to explore exciting play elements, such as the many bridges, high-level walkways, tunnels, slides, go-kart ring and rope equipment which surround the site.

The Approach

Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn entrusted Silver Pear with launching the incredible site to national and regional media, via a series of press releases, a competition in conjunction with local schools and a preview day for influencers and media.

The Results

Activity over three months resulted in 93 pieces of coverage across regional, national, online publications, and social media feeds, equating to a reach of 345,394,315.

Three exclusive journalist preview visits and 14 influencers attending the launch weekend, sharing content from the day.

A competition hosted on social media driving traffic to the website, combined with the PR activity netted over 10,000 attendees at the Hockerhill Adventure Playbarn since the opening weekend, including fully-booked Easter holidays and weekend slots to date.
